Something NEW!

Apparently I had to take a break from re-doing everything and actually just make something new. And it's REALLY new. As in, something I've not done before: Shoes! Well, boots, specifically -

Sass Boots

I've been wanting to make some footwear for a long time, and I'm really pleased that these are my first foray into it, because I think they look really good. They are texture change (via HUD) and you can change the heel/sole/toe separately from the main boot upper. The uppers feature some really lovely faded colors that I just had way too much fun playing with ... and I'll be making more! Here's the first set of colors available -

I decided to go for some classic shoe colors on the first set because I know that's what a lot of people tend to want. But have no fear, there will be bright and intense colors coming! :D

Oh, btw - PLEASE do try the demo before purchase! These boots only come in ONE SIZE, so make sure they look the way you want them to before spending your hard earned money! There is also a little note in the demo that explains a bit more - do read it, it'll explain things a bit more.

Want to pick up a demo? you can find that and all the boot packs in my main shop, Mon Cheri shop, and on the marketplace!

Useful Disasters

Well. I have lost a huge amount of computer files for the second time. Included in this recent loss were all of my ad and product templates, as well as a lot of collected resources (both free and purchased). So, you know, that sucks. I am nothing if not fairly resilient, however. So, I'm going to use this opportunity to clean house, organize, and start from scratch. Which means a lot of behind the scenes work that will likely take a lot of time in which you will see nothing from me. But I am not giving up. So have no fear - I may be quiet, but I am not gone. It will also mean a few changes to my stuff, some of which probably doesn't matter that much to you, but I'm gonna tell you anyway because I'm weird and honest like that. So! The stuff that doesn't matter: New ads. And since I'm making a new template, I'm gonna redo all my old ads. Because I like visual consistency. New logo, probably. I'm probably going to stick with the same basic idea,...

Renaming an eye color.

It's possible no one cares about this except me, or that folks might feel this issue is too trifling to comment on, but I feel it's important to acknowledge it anyway. "Don't be a jerk" has been a longtime motto of mine. I consider it a rule for life. Unfortunately, sometimes it's possible to be a jerk without knowing it, or without intending it. And when that happens, the best way to not continue to be a jerk is to own up to what you've done and make amends. I've named at least one eye color that I've made "Gypsy" (it's in the Tonic, Tonic XXX, and Pluto lines, at least). I always thought the word simply referred to a person (of any race or creed) that chose a nomadic life. I was peripherally aware of a connection to the Romani, but didn't think much of it. And I was very wrong. The word is typically used two ways - one, as a racial slur for the Romani, typically tied to an egregiously racist stereotype that they are all thie...

Winds of Change!

I'm really excited to announce two pieces of news for .{Rue}.! Drumroll please .... #1: I have a partner! My friend Themis Enzo has done me the honor of joining the brand .{Rue}. <3 She will be creating under the brand, and may even be bringing in some of her favorite Favole items! She'll be helping out a lot with the advertising too, so expect her name to be attached to blogposts, notecards, messages and the like. We also have some plans stewing of collaborations, which is pretty exciting. While she'll be managing a lot of the public face of .{Rue}., I do recommend for product questions and issues to contact the person who made the item (in other words, check the items' properties for the creator). It's not a big deal if you get the wrong person, as we'll pass the messages on to each other, but it will probably be faster for *you* if you contact the particular creator directly. Anyway, Themis is awesome and I'm so very delighted to be working wit...
