New store, party, eyes, and groupies!

I'm not sure why I save everything up for monster posts, but here we go! LOL

So, first things first - .{Rue}. has finally grown into a new mainstore! I am very excited to announce that I am joining the illustrious MiaSnow on her lovely Twomoons Island! Appropriately for the island environment, the store is actually on a boat :) It's the first store build I've been really happy with, and it's got such great atmosphere.

I've also invested in a new vendor system that allows for redelivery and customer rewards, which is exciting! As part of the process of changing over, I decided to get rid of all the notecards and LMs cluttering up the vendors and stick them all in one place. Now, the first time you arrive at the store, you'll be given a notecard with everything you need to know in it. After that you won't be offered it again until it changes (... or 7000 unique avatars come through that door, but somehow I don't think that's going to happen lol). Please DO accept and at least skim it - it has my shop policy and other useful notes in it :)

I thought as part of opening the new shop I'd actually finally release these eyes that I've been working on for ages and ages and finally finished! Introducing Nereid, mermaid inspired pearl-like eyes...

I'm really excited about these - they come in many many colors, and each color comes in 5 sizes! The difference in the sizes is pretty big, too, so in essence you really get 5 difference looks with each eye. And, of course, prim versions of all of them. Each color pack (5 system eyes and 5 pairs of prim eyes) is 150L. When you go to the shop, FreeLove, the free wearable demo, is the rainbow-y one ;)

And last, but not least, I have also finally created an inworld group for you likeminded folks to have a place to chat, ask questions, and enjoy free gifts from me! The group is called "Purlieu of .{Rue}.". There is a small 100L fee to keep out the riffraff, but I think it'll be worth it. In fact, there's even a group gift sitting in there just waiting for you to grab it:

Useful Disasters

Well. I have lost a huge amount of computer files for the second time. Included in this recent loss were all of my ad and product templates, as well as a lot of collected resources (both free and purchased). So, you know, that sucks. Renaming an eye color.

It's possible no one cares about this except me, or that folks might feel this issue is too trifling to comment on, but I feel it's important to acknowledge it anyway. "Don't be a jerk" has been a longtime motto of mine. I consider it a rule for life. Unfortunately, sometimes it's possible to be a jerk without knowing it, or without intending it. And when that happens, the best way to not continue to be a jerk is to own up to what you've done and make amends. I've named at least one eye color that I've made "Gypsy" (it's in the Tonic, Tonic XXX, and Pluto lines, at least). I always thought the word simply referred to a person (of any race or creed) that chose a nomadic life. I was peripherally aware of a connection to the Romani, but didn't think much of it. And I was very wrong. The word is typically used two ways - one, as a racial slur for the Romani, typically tied to an egregiously racist stereotype that they are all thie...

Greetings long lost travellers! Ruin(a) is here with a few bits of news for you: 1.
